HH Dr Sheikh Sultan opens Madar at Arada’s $6.5bn Aljada in Sharjah

01 Mar 2020: HH Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah has opened the 55,741.8m2 edutainment complex, Madar at the 2.2km2 and $6.5bn (AED24bn) Aljada by Arada in Sharjah.

The Ruler of Sharjah unveiled the plaque outside the Aljada Discovery Centre, following which he toured the main attractions and various zones and facilities across Madar.

Attractions within Madar include a food district, a play area, a skatepark, an amphitheatre, as well as indoor and outdoor events spaces.  The area is home to more than 5,000 trees and features 800 parking spaces.

The centrepiece of Madar, Aljada Discovery Centre, which was designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, is an elliptical building.

Speaking about the complex, chairman of Arada — which was formed as a joint venture between Basma Group and KBW Investments — Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, said that Madar was an integrated and unique development complex that was home to a wide range of facilities, tourist attractions, and recreational avenues.

Madar is located in the heart of the Aljada in Sharjah’s Muwaileh district.
Earlier this year, Arada recorded a 33% spike in 2019 sales compared to previous year, with the total number of units sold by the developer having surged by 85% in the same period, as it sold just over 5,400 homes across Aljada and Nasma Residences.
